Q: What is Dr. Weng’s Tai-Chi Monkey System? (Is it a different Tai-Chi style?)
A: Dr. Weng’s Tai-chi Monkey System is a common
denominator that interfaces with all Tai-chi
styles. Dr. Weng’s Tai-chi Monkey System is a teaching
method similar to Montessori method, Hooked on Phonics method;
It is not another Tai-chi chuan style.
Dr. Weng’s Tai-chi Monkey is an analysis of series of
major training drills, exercise movements and related Martial
art techniques systematized in conjunction with a simple story
to help recall the major Tai-chi techniques. This is a teaching
tool to aid the student in learning and understanding the
exercise movements and self-defense techniques. In this way, the
student-practitioner will not be frustrated and the learning
process maintains the student’s interest.
As for the advanced practitioner-instructor the teaching methods
are structured so that an instructor of a different Tai-chi
chuan or Martial art style can attain the major principles
quickly and understand the infrastructure as it relates and
interfaces with their own fighting or training system. The
added benefits are being able to teach in another venue with
enough latitude to add or change for variety to maintain the
interest of the student.
Q: What type of person would want to be in this program certification?
A: The Distance Learning Program gives Tai-chi enthusiasts who
live far from the San Francisco-San Jose, California area, the
opportunity to benefit from Dr. Chi-hsiu D. Weng's innovative
teaching methods. A presentation of detailed video material
from one of the top Tai-chi instructors, practitioners and
judges in the world today.
If you are a professional or semi-professional, you may want a
certification to add to your teaching art or to expand your
training program. The main focus of Dr. Weng’s Tai-chi
Monkey System Distance Learning Program is to certify
professionals. If you are a novice or not interested in the
professional aspect and want only self-improvement or
knowledge we have a Personal Development Path program for you.
Q: How old do you have to be?
A: You must be eighteen years of age or older.
